#project It is difficult to talk about this project. It is a simulation of a small imaginary rock being that is trying to gain sentience. It is like a rock tamagochi that is struggling to communicate its needs and desires. It is something trying to just be. We feel for it and want it to succeed and be happy, even though we can't do anything about it. We interact with it and communicate as best as we can, but we always feel like we are not doing it right. On a more conceptual note, the work is an exploration of themes such as randomness, chance and the psychology of apparent behavior (as described in [[Heider and Simmel, A Study of Apparent Behavior]]). These are themes that I keep going back to (see Companions, a previous version of this simulation, as well as our lifeforms.io project Dream Estate).
